Long term success requires some searching questions and honest answers. Lets explore some of the ideas
concerning your success and the motivations needed.

Consistent brilliance is the mark of only the very few. Top sporting teams that achieve consistent success and are a rare commodity and so are businesses and entrepreneurs.
To achieve consistent brilliance one needs hard work and a talent combined. If you already have a strong work ethic, then you are halfway there to achieving long term success because you can use it to attain new skills and concentrate your mind.

To become one of the few you need to be ready to make sacrifices of your time and energy. Of course, I am not just referring to money here for you can be a success in many things from personal relationships to charity work. This is why you need to decide first and foremost what it is that is the most important to you. Do not fall into the trap of thinking that success means one thing or another; it is a subjective process so remember that.

So, to begin with, ask yourself some probing questions that get to the heart of who you are. You should ask yourself things such as, “what matters the most to me in life work or personal life?” There are no right or wrong answers here because it is your decision as an individual to reach the conclusion. It is important to remember that there is no point in selecting something that your heart is not fully involved in. With that point in mind, you should consider your long term success.

Understanding your values and beliefs are critical to understanding your motivations. If you come from a background of hard workers, the chances are that you have had a strong work ethic engrained in you since a child. Of course, it is not always immediately clear for all of us to know who we are or what we like doing. Only through practising self-awareness techniques does it become possible.

Life coaches talk about the idea of a self-talk when it comes to improving self awareness. Self-talk is the idea that the whole time we are conscious we are engaged within a conversation with our selves. A person fully attuned with their attitudes and beliefs is someone who is able to hear this conversation and start to direct it. Spend some time in quiet contemplation with yourself and think honestly and without bias about the things that matter the most to you. Afterwards write down everything you though about in ten minutes and think about what you have learnt about yourself.

You see, having a mind that is self-aware leaves you open to new ideas. Once you have a fixed idea about what you want out of life, you are willing to entertain as many outlandish thoughts as possible to attaining it. Remember that creativity is the spice of life.
So an open mind is important then, as is drive and motivation but what else? Well we mentioned earlier that potential is maximum possibility. like with any possibility potential needs to be actively engaged with if it is going to be achieved. You need to continue encouraging yourself at all times. The good thing is that if you are involved with something you love you will not have to keep consciously reminding yourself of your potential. That is why finding a love- a passion – is so important

Of course that possibility is how you choose to define it? Once you have found your chosen field to excel in do not constrain yourself, think big! The higher you set your sights the more you can achieve. Don’t just have the sky as your limit – think beyond and the future will be yours for the taking

What is it that motivates you to get out of bed in the mornings? Many people would answer going to work and if you love your job that is fine, but a lot of us go to work as a means to an end. When we think about it, work plays a pretty dominant role in our lives. If your long term goal is non work related, then you need to be as creative with your spare time as possible. Make sure that you are being as productive with the mudane tasks of life as possible so you can work on your long term success.

What are you looking for? success in the long term – do you need some ideas to help you focus?
You do not need to re-invente the wheel, read about and learn from the successful people who have already achieved success they will certainly give you some food for thought.

Does your brain struggle to interpret vague instructions? Yes of course it does.
Read through the article and discover the effective way to set and achieve goals, which enable you achieve results

We all like to think we are in control of our own destiny, but is this true? Think of all the different factors that influence where we end up such as, our environment, upbringing, personal wealth, intelligence. When we take external factors into account, the idea that we are in control of our lives seems like a bit of a myth, doesn’t it? Well actually not quite, for being in control means taking control.

One of the biggest reasons that people feel out of control of their lives stems from the realism of their goal setting. If your goal is set to narrow, then your chances of failure are enhanced, massively. For that reason alone, you need to think optimistically and realistically about your life goals. Should your only dream be to be a premiership footballer, then you may end up as disappointed as so many youngsters do. Dreams are important, but must be counter balanced with honest self appraisal.

Think for a moment about a life goal – where do you see yourself in five years time? Perhaps you are thinking about being in a stage of a career? Or maybe you are seeing yourself travelling around the world? Whichever the case may be, your brain needs clear, precise instructions so its energy can be harnessed in the most productive way possible. The process of taking control means getting a clear idea in your head about what exactly you want out of life, for only then can you deliver instructions.

For instance, saying you that you want ‘more money’ isn’t good enough because the brain struggles to interpret that vague type of instruction. You need to ask questions such as:
How much money? And. For what purpose do I want this money?
I know a successful entrepreneur who set himself a target of being a millionaire by the time he turned 27. I can happily report that he is well on the way to achieving this goal. For him, having this goal focused the mind on achieving it. In addition, along with living the high life, his purpose was to be able to provide for those he cared about. With these clear, precise instructions in mind, his brain worked with him and not against him.

Make sure you can quantify your goal, even if it does not involve making money. If your goal is about losing weight, ask yourself how many calories you plan on cutting out every day. Or if your goal is to spend more time with your family, specify how many hours you are looking to spend each week with them. Remember how your brain works and you will never fail.
When you start setting your own agenda, try to make your goal as attractive and as compelling for you as possible. Spend some time visualising all of the attractive benefits that will come from achieving it. For instance, if your goal is to be healthier, think about how much better you are going to look and feel. The selected goal should have an emotional resonance with you because of another way the mind works.

You see, the way we remember things is based on emotional connections. Emotions burn memories in to our brain in the way a lens focuses light through a camera. It is for that reason that sophisticated marketers use highly emotive imagery when branding their products. Therefore, the goal you pick should matter to you on an emotive level. What memories, events, situations, can you draw upon to fuel your desire. Did a teacher ever tell you that you would amount to no good? Where you born into a deprived family that has made you determined to never be poor again? It does not even have to be anything dramatic, for instance, your goal may be to earn enough to afford a new car, therefore, find a picture of the car that you can stick up on a wall or anywhere to remind you of what you are taking control about.

If you do not find your goal appealing you can’t get anywhere with it as an idea because you are not going to be motivated. You should, however, always bear in mind that your goal is realistic for you, and can be achieved in a reasonable time frame. Make sure that you get your goal to fit in around your other commitments.

Many people seek lifestyle change, new opportunities, the chance for a home based business that will bring financial independance. What better way than to walk in the footsteps of the already successful and wealthy.

Voice in my head – what does this mean? Ever wondered why things never work out quite as you want them to. You make a start on getting your life in order, look at different ways to change the the things you are not happy with and you can’t see much improvement, why is that?

It’s the voice in your head, the voice of procrastination. It is telling you all of the reasons why you will not be able to achieve and accomplish what you want. Think ,you have certainly heard that voice say:

1. No don’t do that, it will never work.

2. You certainly haven’t got the time to do that.

3. Whatever makes you think you could make a success of things.

4. Haven’t you tried something like this before.

5. Know your place, you know you never finish anything.

6. The family and friends will make change difficult, best not try.
The list is endless, starting with parents, teachers, friends, colleagues, bless them all, on the whole they may believe they were doing the right thing by you, giving you good advice, recognise that they have the power to stop all your plans instantly. They may see your plans for improvement as the route to move up and also move away, by changing you and what you do they are afraid you will leave them behind.
You want your world to change then you have to change.
Also, lose the voice in your head forever telling you – you will never be more than you are now. It is telling you untruths. You can be what you want to be – but you must take action, nothing will change until you change your mindset.

We all know there are some amongst us who see a glass half full and others who see it half empty. Whatever your view of your personal glass is, believe that it can change. Then take the steps that are necessary to live your life to its fullest potential. Make a start in getting your mindset in order.

Think of all the things you have tried to change or make work for you in the past. Be honest with your answers, when you discover why these things did not happen, remember these are the mistakes you must learn from and not repeat in the same way going forward.

We all need inspiration and motivation, to lift our spirits when the task seems to great, don’t be afraid to read, watch and listen to successful people, most, if not all of them have overcome adversity and problems not to
far removed from where you are. Here you have an excellent tool for silencing the voice in your head!

Learning from successful people, is the method to adopt, the proof you need to build your belief in yourself and your ability to move your mindset.
Find the solution and become the person you were meant to be.

The four easiest traps to fall into, these will take your energy and motivation away and leave you with the wrong mindset for progress

You must avoid them like a swarm of nasty stinging hornets! If your motivation is on a see-saw, up and down
never constant, have you ever tried to pinpoint why that is and tried to change ?
Many times you will have read about the force of the negative and the power of the positive, they move back
and forth one against the other.

There is another way to look at this – Reality – yes take a reality check and recognise that the world is a big
mirror reflecting back to us what ever we project to the world.
Understand this one idea and find your most empowering mindset possible – the world is yours for the taking.

To bring about great change you will need to take great action – but not all at once. Think about the see-saw of
life, if two people sit on one end, the other end can only be up in the air, however if you add a little more weight
to each end you will maintain balance. To obtain balance you move and change small managable pieces of
your life at a time.

Once you fall into any of the following traps, you can instantly lose your energy and drive so essential to getting
you moving:

1. You Desire More – you want to live a fulfilling life full of the good things, just wanting this is not enough, want
is insufficient to motivate you and move you forward. You must have a clear and vivid picture of what you want
to achieve, a specific target, your goal must be so clear and real to you that you can see, touch and taste it.

You want to start your own home based business or get in shape and lose a few inches. Turn these desires into
a vivid picture that you have broken down into small steps, the small steps necessary to reach your goals.
Spend as much time as you need to investigate what you have to do to make these changes and work them into
a clear vision of your future.

2. Reasons and Excuses – For you to get from where you are now to where you want to be, will mean change,
taking some risks and feeling uncomfortable. These things put people off and they come up with excuses and
reasons not to do anything at all, including their plan of change.

As soon as an excuse comes to mind all of the energy and drive to move you forward will disappear. To avoid
this happening, pull your favourite excuse out into the open (you know which excuses I mean), and hammer
them into the dust with facts that prove these reasons to be fake.

3. A Stumble On The Road – The most frequent and important trap to beware of. The smallest setback is often
enough to bring all your desires for change to a shuddering halt. You need to play some mind games and tell
yourself regularly, that a stumble along the road is part of the learning process and necessary to bring more
insight into your journey.

4. What No Results – Following your strategy closely but not getting results, you could be following the wrong
road map. Your motivation will disappear and your strategy will be abandoned. The problem is your goal is
right, your path is wrong. Re-visit the plan, do not abandon the goal that could bring you untold happiness. If
you can see the moves to bring the plan around, great. Otherwise follow the strategy of someone who has
